So, I had this idea for a sort of "cheesecake" blog but with a nerd theme. It's something that crossed my mind after I discovered at several Comic Cons that girls are not just into "geek," they also love the the cosplay...and guys love seeing them. In retrospect, it seemed pretty obvious, but, at the time, not so much. And Thus..."Blog For Wayward Girls" was born!
Why the "Wayward Girls?" Well that is for several reasons. First, the idea of women and geek seemed totally seperated for years (although the truth is...fangirls have alway been around). Conventional/wrong thinking would consider the infusion of the femme with the fan as some sort of delinquency...or wayward. It also describes the formerly unstable lives of two of geekdoms most recognizable female faces...Miss Carrie Fischer and Miss Margot Kidder (sadly, whom both suffer from bipolar disorder). It is also also a reference to the Russ Meyer genre of film and it's ilk.
